Best Gifts for Preschoolers for Christmas
Including Learning Toys
I love the toys for preschool age. They are so much fun! Still fairly simple, but you can watch your child developing more and more strategic and problem-solving skills. It’s such a miracle to watch your child’s ability grow right in front of your eyes! Love it!
I have gone through all of the best gifts for preschoolers that we have and ones I’ve seen other families love. Not only are these gifts for Christmas for that little one you love, but most also serve as learning toys. They are also durable, which is important in our house because I keep my older daughter’s toys to pass down to my toddler.
Who wants to buy toys over and over. We do not buy many toys. So, I’m pretty picky about what comes into our home. Honestly, I just don’t like toys laying everywhere so I want to make the ones we have really count. 🙂 We personally own the majority of these, and we love them!
Let’s Get To It!
Best Gifts for Preschoolers – Including Learning Toys
There are so many to choose from! I tell my husband often, you can’t have too many books or too many wooden puzzles. 🙂 These can be used in so many ways, including homeschooling, hands-on learning, and manipulatives. I want them all. lol!
These foam blocks are awesome! They’re big. Easy to manipulate. Colorful, and they can’t be used as a weapon. Lol. We love them!
We really like these Legos! They’re not as small as the classic lego sets. Which is important for us because we have a small toddler. Also, preschoolers have a hard time with those little pieces. These slightly larger legos are much better for their motor skills.
Board games are so much fun. Here are a few that we enjoy with our preschooler. They are going to feel like such a big kid to sit down and play these with you, and they’re learning valuable skills at the same time. Win!
I held out buying these for so long, and I wish I wouldn’t have! They are awesome! My daughter can create some cool things with these magformers. She will sit and play with them while I’m reading or during quiet time. They are durable. The toddler can’t choke on them or break them. Win-Win.
You can build so many fun things with these gears, and then see the magic of engineering when the gears move together. So fun!
There is a reason that some of the classic toys like Lincoln Logs stick around for so long…because they’re awesome. Simple. Use lots of imagination and durable! Yay for multiple kids playing with the same toy.
Kids love to play Kitchen! This kitchen set has so much to offer. My girls play kitchen together all the time. The youngest is a toddler and the oldest is 5. This is a gift that will keep giving for years to come!
I have a feeling this may be under our tree this year! It looks like something kids from a big age range would enjoy. Also, fun with water while also being easy and contained. You could always bring it in the house during the winter months for play without the water. What do you think? Do you have one?
Little people sets are great to have in your toy collection. They are easy to play with, stand up well, no worries about breaking or choking for toddlers, and durable. Kids from Toddlers to Preschoolers enjoy them. Plus there are many different sets for all kinds of interests.
These personalized name puzzles are great – from teaching a preschooler how to spell their name to decorating their room.
We gave my daughter my old Kindle at age 3 and purchased Kindle Freetime. We still have Kindle Freetime, and she’s 5.5 now. I know some kids have ipads, and that’s great. But the Kindle is much more affordable, and with the Kindle Freetime subscription (only 3.99 per month) it gives them books, games, shows, all included and kid safe. It’s a great set-up.
There are special Kid Kindles like this one. Amazon replaces it if it gets broken.
We’ve used a regular Kindle Fire for the last almost 3 years without a problem.
This is what makes the whole thing work so great! Kindle Freetime is a $2.99 monthly subscription if you have Amazon Prime. We’ve had it for almost 3 years. You get 13,000 kid friendly books, games, apps, and shows. It has material for kids from ages 3-12, and you can limit the content of the app too. This way your child is always ONLY viewing age-appropriate material. Kids have unlimited access to the materials.
They are locked into the Freetime App. So, no erasing the Kindle or messing up other apps for the 3-year-old. You have to put in a password to exit Freetime. Also, you can set time limits in each area. So, a total screen time limit. Or games and shows only limit. You can set up goals for reading that have to be met before they can play games. It’s customizable for what works best for your family and your parenting ideals.
There are lots of books that read to kids for the young ages. Also, lots of themed books for the holidays which is nice. We’ve been happy with it for the 3 years we’ve had it.
If you haven’t caught the Amazon Prime bug yet, now’s the best time to get it. Hello, no lines or traffic or multiple stores for your Christmas gifts! 🙂
Here’s a link to a free trial. Seriously, you’ll never go back. Lol!
Last for this list is another item I waited a long time to purchase, but I wish I would have gotten it sooner. Get a free month with this link – ABCmouse.com. My daughter absolutely loves it! You can get a great trial with this link. They have material from 3 years old to 2nd grade. Your kids will quickly fall in love.
I tried to keep this list short and sweet on purpose. I told y’all I don’t like a lot of toys all over my house. So, I tried to limit them to the ONLY the best gifts for preschoolers!
What would you add to this list? How many of these do you already own?
I love Christmas time! I hope this helps make your shopping easier.
